not the exhaust tone, it has somewhat of a vibration kind of noise during acceleration, is it possible that the leak only occurs during high exhaust pressures? cause it deffinately wasnt leaking at idle.

if its vibration then its probably hitting a cross member...under acceleration, the engine pivots back a little which could cause the exhaust to hit if its to close.

see if thats the problem first...look under the car to see if its close to anything. if its close, crab the exhaust and move it around to see if it touches.

I took both cross members off. Also, I used the heavy-duty Nismo hangers when I installed my Cattman Cat-back.

Get some hose clamps and wrap them around your hangers. Tighten them up and they will adjust the catback in a way that it will not hit your crossmember. Another option is to realign the exhaust system... which involves loosening the bolts for the cat, b-pipe, and the rear section and reinstall them all but raise the exhaust (with jacks or have a friend push) every time you tighten a bolt.

I don't think the rear section in isolation necessarily causes a bad fit... it is a combination of everything else you have.

My Frankencar cat-back fit fine until I got Cattman headers, which cause everything to be pulled tighter for more ground clearance (a good thing) and it rattled on the heat shield around the muffler which I just pulled off, yet, I didn't have that issue when I had the headers, Frankencar B and the Cattman rear (which has a smaller can). With the Megan rear, the rattling came back, but it was from a different spot, the heatshield by the first bend in the b-pipe, which I just bent out of the way. I have had hoseclamps on all my hangers for every set-up.

I need to put that one cross brace back on and see how that works out... if I can still find it. LOL.

My point here is just that sometimes aftermarket set-ups may require some tweaking, but it shouldn't be major. IMO, quality on the popular parts that the 5th Gens have is pretty decent these days.

check your resonator, cattman puts a small weld bead at the front end of the resonator pipe to make sure it is installed correctly. If you get under the car you should not see the bead. If you can see the bead the resonator needs to be removed and installed correctly.

As you can see this resonator is installed upside down. It is a common mistake because installers do not read instructions.

Really? Could you please explain how an engine which is sitting sideways can hit a crossmember which is running front to back? There are some serious problems going on if your motor is torquing from left to right. Our motors torque front to back which is inline with the crossmember...

I had that same problem when I initially installed my Cattman exhaust! It's the heat shield aft of the brace in the 90 degree turn b4 that rear section connection! Just push the shield away from the exhaust with a large screwdiver or hammer! As for the exhaust hangars: two choices Nismo ($$$) or Napa ! Each are a hell of alot better than OEM, they're stiffer and contain mor material! That small brace can be spaced with some washers!

I just used some hose clamps. They work great. No need to buy new rubbers.
