failed inspection with p0135 code/check engine light?

Now I have seen my check engine light come on after i get gas and the attendant doesnt screw the cap tight enough..and goes off a few days to a week later, but i also failed for p0135 which apparently is front o2 sensor(in pre-cat) do the 2 coincide with each other? if not how come the check engine light goes off after tightening the cap and waiting a few days? is that o2 senso easy to change if needed? thanks in advance..Nick

of course you will fail inspection with an emissions problems such as a bad O-2 sensor. replace it and then go back.
they are completely unrelated. just because the light goes of doesnt mean that the problem is gone. the code is still stored until you fix the problem.

there are two O2 sensors before precats...front bank and rear bank.

I changed my o2 sensor about 3 weeks ago using the TSB. it takes only about 15 mins, its just a direct swap. as soon as i turned the car on my SES light turned off. i didn't even have to disconnect the battery.
