"Weathered" exterior trim
"Weathered" exterior trim
I live in FL and my car has been parked outside for most of it's life so the black plastic trim on the exterior of my max has really gotten dull and dried out. I wanted to know what other max owners have done to fix this issue. I am considering replacing this stuff (if it is affordable) or perhaps sanding priming and repainting it all. I do not have any experience doing this and the black out window trim links in the stickies no longer work (even replacing showthread w/oldthread). The pieces I am referring to are the window trim top & bottom, plastic on the side mirrors, b pillar trim (I know this can be peeled off), the pillar that seperates the windows in the rear doors (this is the worst and it's doesn't appear to be the same material as the rest), and the trim around the front windshield. No matter what I decide to do, I will most likely need to remove these carefully and would like to know the best way to do this. Also feel free to name any particular products, brands or vendors you've used in this process. Thanks.
