Replacement flex section for hotshot headers

My flex is so fawked right now. You can really hear this "fluttering" noise upon deceleration..its pretty bad. How do I go about replacing the flex section? I know lined flex sections are suggested. I also know that braided ones are sold as well...should I get this?

Now that hotshot is out of business I cant contact them to get a replacement. Where should I go? Are places like Meineke ok for this kind of thing or am I better off buying one online and having a shop intall and weld it?

Does anyone happen to know the measurements for the flex? I know the diameter is 2.5"...just not sure of the length and the length of the endcaps. thanks in advance

I believe the HS flex sections are "semi loud" to begin with, what exactly is wrong with yours? Is it I believe you can look for a lined flex online and have a shop weld it on... this path should be much cheaper.

Most muffler shops can weld in a new one. I had the one on my DC Sport header on my Accord (definitely a quality header, but it was 6 years old) go bad and the shop that replaced it did a great job, didn't have any problems the last two years I had the car.

I always heard hotshot and cattman were the best quality ones out there at the time...

Spoke to American Muffler...$150+ tax. I think I can do better esp. since the guy on the phone was not sure if the flex is lined...I'll take the measurments of the flex and buy a good one online

Im also pretty sure it is the flex b/c I have no cats on my car...its all just straight pipe. I also had the car on the lift and I shook it a bit and heard something loose inside

That sounds a lot like a faulty cat. I had the same problem, fixed under warranty.

Sorry to Bump an old thread, but I am actually experiencing the same sound and I believe its coming from the flex section of the HotShot Headers.

Has anyone replaced the short flex on the HotShot's w/ something longer and lined? Cost? Any positive experiences?
