if there was a trick then the lock would be pretty pointless. it is designed to be secure.

this is all the manual says....

GLOVE BOX
When locking or unlocking the glove box, use
the master key.

So if I locked it, I should be able to open it with the same key? And that is the red one not the black ones right?

Sometimes, I wait until I get in the car to lock it.

In mine, the key doesn't go in all the way and it works fine, so I don't think that's your problem. Jiggle it around a little bit, whatever key you used to lock it should open it (as mentioned above). Maybe it's slightly jammed, be a little bit more persuasive

the red is the valet key and will not work on trunk or glovebox...
the black key is the master...works for everything

Unless you're not trying to use the red vallet key to open it then it shoud open unless something went wrong with the lock at that instant when you locked it. I have locked mine before and never had a problem opening it.

Good idea! Leave the note inside the glove box so the thief is sure to see it

Thanks Sooner for clarifying the keys for me. You are one of the most knowledgeable people on the org. What aren't you mod?
