I wonder if it is possible to replace 2k1 gearbox with a 2k2's?.... hmmm just wondering if that is possible... dun you laugh at this newbie's innocent question...

 

I think the linkages are different. 2k/2k1 is rod, and 2k2 is cable shift. Other than those, I don't see a problem. Someone posted this a while ago, and I think someone said it wouldn't work, I forgot though.

 

No, the ECUS wont work on the 6 speed..

 

i don't believe it's an ECU issue because if it starts your golden. like with HLH0501's swap, he still has his AUTO ECU and his CEL is one but that can be fixed also. it's more of a bellhousing issue i think. the engine swap would run into ECU issues
