It's about time for a detail. I know steam cleaning the engine isn't recommended, but has anyone had experience with this?

Is it best to just do it myself and with what product?

I want to keep my engine clean and new-looking forever! (Now if I can just figure out how to keep the new car smell from going away!)

car wash place

when the time comes (25k miles?), i'll probably take it to a spray wand car wash place with the degreaser option. It's not like you ever need to get it all that clean under the hood. just remember to put a baggie over the air filter if you have a stillen / cone type.

HoboPro did can't and couldn't start his car... I don't recommend spraying down the engine like that. Just hand clean the parts that are dirty.
