Will a AT transmission from 2002 SE fit into 2000

hey guys.....this weekend my tranny conked out on me. I took it too a local show and the guy there told me that it needs a rebuild. He quoted me a price of $2400. The car as abotu 125K miles on it and I wasn't really having too many issues with the about I dont know if I willing to spend that much on a rebuild. So I found a dismantler with a 2002 AT tranny and I was wondering if that would fit into a 2000.

Thanks
D

it can be made to work, you just need to know what to change. i mean it's going to bolt on, but the VB and a few output gears are different.

There is a 1 letter difference in the code (I can't remember from what to what). All gear ratios are the same. The biggest difference is in the software.

Check your firewall.

A & B refer to 95-99 and 2000 - 2003 IIRC so that might be

It will tell you what your tranny code is. And from that code you can tell how many forward gears and if it is LSD or open and if it has an OD.

The A & B represent different FD's.

What is your point here? What are you trying to say, you’re talking in riddles, make your point and let’s move on.

Grammar ADVICE > ADVISE in this case.

I am thinking about the same thing, Im not 100% sure but the driveshafts and the trans ecu[if it has 1] might be a issue. Also 2400.00 for a rebuild seams way high,Did you check around? I would be interested in your outcome.

Everything should be fine. If the TCM is different you could just swap out the TCM units or buy an aftermarket standalone.

But IIRC the gearings are exactly the same so I don't see why the TCM would be different
