Hood trying to escape!

I know the hood isn't the strongest thing on the car but come on...

I was going about 70-75mph on a major highway here and granted it was quite windy to begin with before you add in the 70mph but I swear my hood was trying to fly away! it was really moving around trying to fly up, I had to pull over just to make sure it was latched down!! kinda scary!

Check the hood "stops", they are like these little bumper stops. Adjust that so that the hood is nice and secure and does not have any play in it when it is closed.

I experienced the same problem with my Max, on the next service trip I had Nissan adjust the hood now 100 MPH no hood lift.

Don't worry, there is a 3 stage latch that won't let the hood go anywhere but you should get it secured.

Like BigDog said, the hood stays at either side of the engine bay will cure what ails ya'. Worked for my bouncy hood.

Drove for about an hour last night at 75mph. No hood shake or movement. You probably just need it adjusted.

Yup, i've been up much faster than 75 with my 2k max (as have many people on this board)... the hood stays put...

Get it checked out..

PS. If your dealer is extra incompetent, they may try to pass this off... There's is something about insurance or such that prevents their techs from taking your car over the speed limit to diagnose a problem.. I've heard of people get the "Well, you shouldn't drive that fast anyway" deal..
