Because they cost a small fortune. It's just a 4 cylinder built to the hilt and made to spin like a turbocharger. It will fit into a max sure. But the last time I checked I would not want that kind of torque curve in a 3000lbs + car.

SPOON is a company like mugen or nismo. The build honda engines not nissan. They take jap specs like the H22A(not H22A1) or B16A(not B18A1) and bring out their full potential. They are some bad mothers.

Like a previous poster mentioned, it's primarily Honda engines...you also have to take out a second mortgage to pay for one. NOT cheap.

Hehehe...this is random, but I remember winning the yellow/black SPOON Civic on Gran Turismo 2 for the PSX. That sh*t had like a 9,000-10,000 redline...!

remember in fast and the furious when that guy wanted 3 SPOON MOTORS with turbo chargers, and NOS, what was he going to do? get the high comp SPOON motors just to raise compression for turbo/NOS again?? that sure was funny amongst the honda crowd when we had a massive import scene meet for the premier of that movie.

side note

i would also like to add that, in Fast and the Furious, Tran's S2000 had a nissan engine in it, according to the movie dialogue. When he was talking to the mechanic he says, Nissan SR20's would be perfect for the car.

i liked the movie, but i hate the impression it left on people that already dont know much about cars. ESPECIALLY on the nitrous front, i happen to have nitrous on my car, and people are always asking me "wheres the red button!?!"

HAHA, REMEMBER EACH TIME THEY SHOWED EACH DRIVER YOU CAN SEE THE CROWD WIZZING BY THROUGH THAT WHOLE SEQUENCE, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN 100,000 SPECTATORS THAT NIGHT !!!!!!

I KNOW ITS ALL JUST FOR DRAMA, REMEMBER IN MOVIES 10 SECS = 10 MINUTES, LIKE WHEN A TIME BOMB IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE.

do a search on "yahoo.com" for "SR20"... there's an entire website devoted to the engine.

its for flying.

its very light and durable, cirrus has done a great job of making it.

The extra wheels are to make it look futuristic, make it cost more, make people ask questions, and so you can go off-road, like most SUV drivers do.

I think they're for climbing stairs/curbs/obstacles/small children.

This is Dean Karmen's newest invention (The guy has invented portable dialasis (sp?) machine, a wheel chair that can climb stairs and does not lose balance).

"This is the world's first self-balancing human transporter," Kamen said. "You stand on this Segway Human Transporter and you think forward and then you go forward. If you think backward, you go backward."
