Z clutch fitment issues?

My trans is getting replaced under warranty and I would like to replace my clutch and flywheel while the trans is out. I decided on the buying the fidanza flywheel and had initially planned on using the 05/06 Z clutch until I called Dave B today. He mentioned that some max owners were forced to shave off a portion of the bell housing in order to make this work. I know that the dealer would definitely be aprehensive shaving off a portion of the bell housing on a brand new transmission. I was unaware of this issue and I have done some searching but have been unable to get a clear answer regarding this clutch's fitment in my 02 trans. This thread was helpful http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ferrerid=48255

I was hoping that someone would be able to shed some light on this situation for me. I didn't know if those individuals that had fitment issues were using the stock flywheel or better yet the fidanza that I plan on using. I was hoping that the fidanza flywheel would perhaps not be as thick as the OEM dual mass and solve my fitment issue.

If I don't get a clear answer then I'm going to have to order a spec, clutchmasters or exedy kit. I'm leaning toward the exedy right now as I've had good experience with them in my previous car. I am modded NA right now and may spray at some point in the future, but not more than a 75 shot (likely a stage 1 or 2). Good or bad experiences would be great. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.
