Y-Pipe Poll

After bothering some of the follow org'ers about my exhaust Q's, I have made my decision of getting a Y-Pipe as my first piece. But, I'm decisive as crap and I don't know which one to get so... help lol

I chose Cattman since I also have a Cattman-Y. But I would suggest saving your money and getting headers, Y-pipes don't do much at all for the 5th gens

I don't know, I saw some videos of guys with headers with stock exhaust and I don't like the sound. Some people were saying Y-pipe would be the best thing to do for a 3.0

y-pipe is the best mod for us 5th genners jess....not so for the 5.5..poopers.. i have a warpseed y, and i love it. just get whatever you can afford i suppose...
stay away from stillen, cause they are imo, not an honest company from experiences from a guy on here... plus they like to charge and arm and a leg.
cattman is a reputable company, their products are pretty dang good and the people know their stuff and are friendly.
your call bro.

do your own research, the amount of info on exhaust mods here is ridiculous most of the threads have the same conclusions.

warpspeed should be the least expensive and well proven option, but I can't say enough good things about cattman. I'd be willing to bet their design is a little better than the warpspeed, and it will probably last longer.

Not sure if they do, but I'd save my money and get the cattman headers/ypipe.

i have a 2001 SE and let me tell you, i just put a stainless steel ypipe on it from warpspeed, and i am blown away by the difference in power.

before my car was quick but it lagged so much top end, it would pull hard to 4700rpm then just pull flat from there, not increasing in power.

now it pulls hard from 3k all the way to red line and it pulls noticebly harder.

but either one you cant go wrong.

my warpspeed cost me 250 shipped.

cattman is always good stuff, but alot more $$

Can someone clear something up for me. When you install an aftermarket Y pipe you get rid of the pre-cats, right? If so, what happens to the second 02 sensors in bank one and bank two??

Not needed unless you plan on getting rid of the sensor(s) completely.

Add new bungs, plug in secondary sensors = problem solved.

the y-pipe will have a O2 hole to relocate the front bank, front sensor (bank 2, sensor 1) to after the remaining rear pre-cat (bank 1).

02-03 Y-pipe!

Yes, Warpspeed makes a y-pipe for the 02-03! Thier merge is different than Cattman's! It's on thier website! They claim they were the first for the 02-03 and you don't have to extend your O2 sensor harness! I'm running a Cattman Y-pipe which will be for sale in a few months once my Cattman Headers are ceramic coated!

can you buy the cattman headers seperatly from the y pipe and put them together or are they still one piece for the 5.5 gen

Cattman Headers can only be used with the y-pipe that comes with the headers, not the separate y-pipe unit that he sells.

because the shape is totally different. the headers dont end in the same spot as stock ones, they are longer.
