Ok I think I want the Bridgestone Blizzak tires (225/50-17)for winter tires.. but I just need some decent (but not flashy/expensive) wheels for winter driving.

Recommendations?

IMHO you want 215/55/16's for winter tires, they will do much better. You can do w/o the 17's for a few months. Pick up a set of the I30 or Max 16's cheap and put the blizzaks on them. Blizzaks are great snows, nice traction and decent wear.
