I have a white Maxima as well and was actually thinking about doing something similar. It looks good, but I think it might look better if you didn't go as far out with the black, ie. just like an inch or 2 to the right of the muffler cutout.

I had it shorter when i tryed it with just masking tape. then people were like make it longer so i did... but yea i think i could have been shorter a lil bit.

Not bad. If you had some nicer exhaust tips on..it would look even better.

Saw it done with the Stillen rear lip, someone from VA or closeby. Either way, it looks good. The car looks good also. Keep it up.

Help me understand what is it for. Is it a style? What is a "diffuser"?

Funny, tonight I was behind a Pontiac G8 and it had the same looking tail.

Anyway.....looks good!

A diffuser is used to reduce air resistance by cutting down on turbulant air under the car. Many of them are carbonfiber or a plastic, the op just painted his bumper to look like one. It is a "style" thing now, allot of cars come factory with a piece of unpainted plastic on the lower part of the bumper that does nothing.

Personally not a big fan of the look. It almost looks like a section of the bumper fell of.

Maybe its just because I know what the bumper normally looks like, so when that piece looks like its missing, it doesnt look right. Just my opinion.

But i'll give you props for effort and trying to be original. Keep it up!
