2002 with P0420 code. Thank you!!!

So I have had this code on and off since I bought my SE 4 months ago.
I've been searching about the error and last night spend 1 hour reading them again.

I saw that Nissan covers 80K miles emission warranty. I called my dealer and he said he will do a test to see if it's covered or not.
He was aware of the warranty and what not.

Here is the trip part. I rolled in to the dealership at 79,999 miles!!!!
The guy said I am a very lucky guy.
He ran the test, it was covered, and I get a free rental car!

Just wanna say thank you guys, you guys are awesome.
If I didn't read those threads last night, I probably sell this Maxima. (this is my 2nd max)

Thanks again, and Search does help!

It was the cat and ecu reprogramming.

Wow you are one lucky guy. I have that same code. I have way less than the 80000 miles, but my car is a 2000 so it's over the 8 year limit. The dealer wants $200 just for the ecu reprogramming.

I've seen o2's cause this more times than I have cats, just an fyi for some of you, and everytime it was the o2's fault there were no o2 codes but it would rattle inside upon removal.
