Ralco vs. Unorthodox UDPs

Anyone had experience with Ralco AND UR pulleys? Brian has his May sale on Ralco UDP's for $135.00 and just wondering how the different from UD's UDPs. He told me the weight of the Ralco UDP was 20.7oz. How does that compare weight wise to UR pulley weight?

Just a curious newbie question... what is a UDP? is this a performance upgrade?

UDP=Underdrive Pulley. I honestly don't understand how it works but you can google it.

It looks like it is a smaller crank pully slowing your accessory pullys freeing up more power???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underdrive_pulleys

There are also similar functioning stock-diameter pulleys. So I take it no one really has knowledge of the Ralco UDP's huh?

Ive never heard of Ralco but ive heard other brands tend to be prone to leaks after install. The pulley by UR has had nothing but good reviews from what ive heard. These pulleys reduce your accessories as well as save weight. Which is rotational mass which free's up a FEW ponies.

Can you explain? What leaks? Aren't the pulleys solid alum?

two benefits

These pulleys are marketed as performance enhancers that actually net additional engine torque and horsepower by reducing parasitic drag caused by belt-driven accessories but more importantly by being lighter and reducing rotational mass.

One thing for certain, an aftermarket UDP is not a product I would try to save a few bucks on. If one brand is significantly cheaper than the average for other brands, I would wonder where exactly the costs were cut. I've had a stock crank pulley come apart and it wasn't pretty.

Yeah, this thread was just to fulfill some curiosity. I wasn't too familiar with Ralco and I'm sure there's a reason their price is about $50 cheaper than UR's. Doesn't look like anyone has experience with it anyway.
