Eibach springs, will my jack fit?

Those of you with Eibach springs, do any of you know if a 5 1/2 to 19 inch floor jack will fit under the front and side jacking points? I'm wondering if I will need to return the jack I have and get a low profile one.

Does that one jack up to 19 inches? I had a low profile one before and it was not capable of lifting the car high enough to fit my jack stands. The only low profile jack I've seen that can jack that high is almost 150 dollars.

1. go out to your car
2. see how much clearance there is for your jack right now
3. if you have more than 1.5" clearance now, then you'll be fine with Eibachs.

I was going to do that, but it requires me to put the car on a level, hard surface. That means moving the car, and the jack a quarter mile to the street. Posting on the .org was just so much easier.

why is your car parked 1/4 mile from a level, hard surface?

or...if you're in a dirt area, just dig away some of the dirt where the jack goes to give yourself clearance.

Either way, this is a really stupid thread.

Well, if need be, just keep a couple pieces of 2x10 around in case you need to jack the car up. That would probably give you enought to get the jackl under the car.

Long gravel driveway in a rural area. I also would not jack a car on a gravel or dirt surface if I can help it. When the car goes up, its done in the garage (which is being cleaned and is in no condition to house a car on jackstands).

Either way, this is a really stupid thread.
Whats the issue? Am I not allowed to ask a simple question? I appreciate whatever help I get, but if its beneath you then you don't have to answer.

And do what, drive the car onto the pieces of wood and jack it up from there? I'll do it if I have to but I'd not deal with the band-aid fix. It seems that some have clearance and some don't. I'll take it down to the street tomorrow and measure it.

Because:

1. Unless we know the exact model of your jack, and someone happens to have one of the same ones, how is anyone supposed to answer?

2. Because peoples cars will sit differently with Eibachs. People use different size wheels/tires and not always in stock diameter spec, so sitting height won't necessarily be the same

3. Because Eibach springs have a 1.5" drop. Your car's stock ground clearance is 5.5 inches, which is generally the rear crossmember. The front lip is probably a couple inches higher (let's say 8"). So take 1.5 from that and you probably have 6.5-7" of clearance up front (even more on side jack points). So if your jack goes down to 5 1/2" you should be fine.

I have 3 different floor jacks and all of them work on my car which has Eibachs PLUS the Mach 1 lip, which hangs down about 3" at the front (they barely clear).

1. You don't need the model. A large number of jacks have a capacity on the lower end of 5 and a half inches.

2. Yes after market wheels, tires and tire pressure will effect actual ride height but I have stock wheels with stock size tires and I run tire pressures slightly higher than factory recommended. It's fairly likely that there are other people that have similar setups and can provide at the least, useful estimates. Asking now is prudent because I do not want to put the car up on stands and then be unable to lower it enough with the jack I have. Obviously measuring the clearance on the surface I'm going to jack the car is the be all and end all answer but there is nothing wrong in asking. This is a Maxima oriented discussion forum after all.

3.Eibach's website says the front/rear drop for the 00-03 maximas is 1.3/1.0 inches but that only makes your answer ever more pertinent. That 5 line answer was exactly what I was looking for. And I'm SURE it was easy for you to type. Simple question and simple answer. I'm not asking you or anyone else to do the work for me, I wanted to know from someone who was here before me what worked and what didn't. Real easy answer. I really don't think my threat is so stupid.

Yeah, thats what I think I'll do if I have problems, that is until I get a jack that fits.

Keep in m ind, if you have to jack your car up in case of a flat, it will be lower. I know this because my jack worked perfectly fine with fully inflated tires. i got a flat, and had to use the POS that came with it because my jack didn't fit under the car when the front tire went flat.

the craftsman aluminum low profile jack will 100% fit under a progress spring drop maxima even with the stillen classic (02-03) lip. Puppetmaster can verify this..it just fits with very little room to spare but it fits right under the front of the car.
