Uninstalling the Bose HU in a 2002...

Is this hard to do? I miss my Kenwood x990 radio that was in the 4th generation and I want to re-install that in this car. How hard is it to remove all of this Bose stuff?

The car is bought is pretty much factory, the former owner seemed to just drive to car, nothing has been changed on the car at all.

So I would assume "everything" is factory, which would make the uninstall a little bit more difficult.

This bose stuff is cool but not my cup of tea....

Also, I would assume this radio sells for about $100... or is it more? It has a 6 disk cd changer.

when you pop it out, would you mind snapping and posting some pics of the back of it?

i'm interested to see what type of connections the in-dash 6 has.

This should be in the audio forum but... The Bose isn't hard to get out (as you can see from the link above)...just kind of pain to wire up a new HU. I highly recommend getting an adapter to connect your aftermarket HU to the Bose wiring harness...will make things easier. You will also need to get new trim, unless your aftermarket is the same size as your Bose HU.

The screws to get the Bose HU off the brackets were a PITA to get off i had to use a screw extractor.
