Header question.

Got the cattmans mounted on my 02 yesterday.Problem is it cranks right up,hesitates then stalls.Battery was disconnected and the intake manifold was removed for installation.New gasket and plugs were put in.So I checked all the little hoses and connections, coulnt find anything. No CELs , if its given a little gas as its started it idles normally afterwards. No problems once its running.

What can it be?

Doesn't the ecu need to relearn after the battery is disconnected? Maybe that combing with the headers throwing the air/fuel mixture off is playing havoc with your car? Have you driven it much since the install?

All the hoses on top look snug.Ill pull the intake manifold off again to see if the gasket is on right. No exhaust leaks.

have to make sure all your O2's are connected because if the primary O2 is not connected your car will not start

Your problems show why it is best to make one change at a time, makes it easier to find any problems that may occur. When you do several things at once, there is just so much more to go through to find what went wrong. I've learned that the hard way...more than once!

Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak, I'd double check the intake manifold and all vacuum hose connections first.

Yea,Im getting to the 100k mark so might as well change out the plugs while the manifold's off.I know what you mean though.

Thats what I was thinking too.Today the car is doing better though.Itll start and barelly catch and then idle normally.RLWOO1 might have heard rigth. We'll see if it gets better as the week goes by.

First few months of my headers being on I had ZERO o2 sensors connected and I had no issues other than the CEL.

To the OP... If it was a leak you should have problems all the time, not just on start up. Sounds to me like a coilpack or plug is having trouble on start up.

Car is acting normal today.Starts normally and no CEL.Hopefully it'll stay that way.

As far as the sensors go the rear one was extended by cutting the harness wrapping open and just pulling it out to get enough wire. The front wires werent going to be long enough so my friend added some to keep it out the heat. The other two were hooked up to the simulator, wrapped in electrical tape and tucked under the engine cover.
