more than likely your MAF. any codes being thrown? where does the power loss happen in the rpm range?

Need to replace the MAF, not just clean it. Cleaning really doesn't do much.....

Check to see if you have any pending codes, sometimes the cam position sensors won't light the SES light but will show a pending code (P0340/0345). My car was bogging every so often for a second or two, almost like the engine was cutting out but I wasn't getting any codes. I got my oil changed and they run diagnostics on the car as a courtesy and it showed a pending P0340, and earlier that day, my car had bogged hard twice in the morning, then ran normally after that. Changed the offending sensor, no more pending code...until last night. Two hard bogs then my car ran normally. No SES light, pulled the code, P0340. No problems on a 2000 mile road trip or the first 10 days back (changed it a few days before I left) and now it is back. Either they gave me a bad sensor or I have a wiring/grounding issue. Ought to be fun chasing it down. It is something that happens every 6-8 weeks or so, not something that happens regularly.

Anyway, point is, check to see if you have any pending codes that can point you in the right direction.
