Input Shaft Bearing?

I'm pretty sure my ISB is going out. It has all the common signs (chatter stops when I push the clutch in and I can also hear the chatter rise with the RPM in gear). I had the same issue with my 4th gen. I also have a pretty nasty tranny leak. Could these 2 be linked? The vibration isn't too bad right now but I don't want it to get worse. Can somebody help me out here? Does this need fix ASAP? If so how much should it cost? I know it's not a cheap fix. Thanks a lot.

Yes, the wobble from the bad bearing causes the leak. It's not going to self-destruct as long as you keep oil in it. Probably $600-$1200 depending on who's doing the work.

where do you think it leaks from and how much do you think it all is? Thanks for the reply!

I think it leaks from the axles (where the axles meet the transmission). in my 4th gen it ended up getting so bad, the axles got damaged too (because there was play in the differential).

I have the exact same problem.... A loud chattering while the car is in gear w/ no gas being given, like he said, as soon as you put the clutch in its gone.! could there be a possibility it might be a driveshaft?? i did lower my car recently... thats why..

doubt it's drive shaft... that moves when the car moves. Either ISB or Throw out Bearing is my opinion. mine is getting changed this weekend so I'll let you know what happens.
