yeah. ive been going over the operation diagram from the FSM and it sort of looks like an operating ABS circuit is necessary for the control. im not sure though, but if thats true i would guess that its for the vehicle speed input

My ABS light was on for a year or so and the CC was fully functional, i think they are unrelated. I have a 02 6sp, however it was the rear sensors that were bad, not sure if that makes a difference.

you should take a video of this, mine surges and its normal, its just how the cc works, but its not really serious, just annoying sometimes, but if yours is really bad its different. we would need to see it to get an idea.

PS: my switch is fine im pretty sure. i can get the lights to work and im pretty sure it sends a signal to the ECU when i hit set. either way, im in the process of getting a new abs sensor, so well see if that does it.

Its not a heavy surge, but its annoying, like pressing the gas, releasing slowly and over and over.

does it happen constantly? could be a vacuum leak in one of the cc units

Its constant like a up and down ride, i replaced the vacuum lines and still does it.

what i meant was a vacuum leak in the actual control device itself. sounds kind of like what happens when a master cylinder is leaking vacuum. leaks out until its low and then you have to recover. for cc that would mean slowing down until the vacuum is low enough for it to be noticed and then speeding up to recover. i dont know though, just my speculation. not a lot can go wrong with a cable cc

That sounds about right, ill have to test it with a vacuum gauge when i get a chance, its not a major concern because i dont travel alot on open roads to used it.
