Hard Starts with Warm Engine
My car (02 Max-Manual Tranny) had developed this problem over the past few months.
When the engine is warm and you start the car it will rev to like 1500 rpm then back down to 0 and the engine stops. If you tap on the gas even lightly right after you start it, it will keep running. On starts first thing in the morning (cold engine), one twist of the key and its up and running, you don't have to press the gas pedal.
Check Engine codes:
P1448 - EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve Open
P0455 - EVAP Control System Gross Leak
I am not sure if thats related. I have replaced the gas cap and the MAF so far. I will replace the valve and evap, but I am not sure if that would solve the problem. Any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with the START SIGNAL. When the car is warm it will be difficult to start. To check this use a voltmeter on the 12 volt setting and see if you get juice to the START SIGNAL fuse when the ignition is in the start position. If you get no voltage change the fuse. If still no voltage, check the ignition switch.

I checked the start signal and it showed 0 volts when the key was in the start position. Just to give you an idea, i have a viper 791xv remote start installed as well. Do you thing i need to replace the ignition switch. The starting was fine for some time after the alarm was installed.
