EVAP Canister...quick fix?

Instead of being at the complete mercy of Nissan when opting for a new EVAP canister.....is there any way to clean it? Or would you just not go that route?

Clean it, and if it's broke /cracked, epoxy / JB weld.

Don't go the cheapo route on that part if your fix doesn't work you'll burn out your SES bulb, plus when that part fails it sucks your power and increases you MPG's. I equate it to re-using a Trojan, thats something you should NEVER do.

My SES light has been on for about 4 years and I still get 28 MPG highway. If you want the code fixed, pay the 350$+ for the part and have fun installing

guys... EVAP does not DO ANYTHING! epoxy, and fix that. it will not effect your MPG at all.. it is only there to release pressure in the fuel tank. you can reprogram your ECU to not even read the EVAP codes and you're good to go for emissions.

I replaced my valve and then epoxied the canister I cracked taking the old valve off. Been fine for over 6000 miles. The canisters dont need to be 'cleaned' just sealed.
