350Z Muffler/Resonator on Maxima?

350Z Muffler/Resonator on Maxima?
Is it possible to cut an existing muffler and resonator from a 350Z and weld it/clamp it onto the Maxima, in place with the existing muffler/resonator?
The idea isn't to get any HP gains, but to get something close to that sweet sound of the VQ35DE engine coming out of the tail pipe of a 350Z.
I understand there are a LOT of variables in play here (intake, combustion, downpipe,...) that makes that sweet sounds from the Z, but just seeing if someone has done it already.

uh oh.... get your fire suit on...
i posted a thread similar to this and got flamed like hell.. and i was asking about an altima se-r muffler... given that the cars have the exact same engine and exhaust systems as maximas (minus the split in the back) i thought i had a valid question, but i guess not.. people are quick to flame on muffler swaps regardless of if you actually put thought into it or not
but to answer your question without flaming, probably not because Zs have true duals, and that most likely plays a big part... they also have the big @$$ muffler that goes across the car like parallel to the bumper instead of perpendicular like maximas.. i don't even know if it would fit.. but yeah... most likely it won't work

Well I figured I'd ask the experts. Wasn't aware that the Z had the big tank of a muffler. Not that I do, we can consider this thread dead, eh?
Thanx for the "heads up".

I was always curious if this has ever been done. I can begin to hear the engine growl semi-similar to a Z at around 3500rpm, but I doubt the exhaust note is the same. They do sound well though, let me know how this carries through.

It cannot be done. The Z/G rear muffler is huge, and our spare tire well is in the way. On the drivers side of the car there's also an evap canister.
I've decided to try my luck with a G35 sedan muffler, if I can ever get my hands on one.
