foggy headlights.... water leak?

last summer I posted on here regarding clearing out my headlights... I completed the task (removing headlights, place in oven, replace orange blinker lens with a clear one, etc.) and now my headlights are really foggy, especially after washing it.. Ive tried wet sanding the headlight and applying plastX but I think its foggy bc water is leaking in from where I took the headlight apart and didnt seal it back together good enough... ANYWAYS, what should I do? I was thinking about taking the headlights apart again (using the oven method) drying them out good and applying plastX to both sides... thoughts???

take out the turn signal bulb so airflow can get in there, that will get rid of the moisture (assuming it's not humid or rainy). Run some clear silicone around entire housing where it meets the lens and smooth with your finger.

Please point me to link or thread where steps for headlight removal, drying and sealing of headlghts (2003 Maxima) is discussed. I have foggy headlights that I had tried cleaning - without removing them - by using 600, 800, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper (wet) and Novus plastic polish. It made fog even worse. Maybe I did not hand buff and polish enough (a few minutes per grit and polish x 3 levels). Maybe the 600 or 800 scratched things up. Thank you very much if reply comes.
