You mean gut it? Hammer + screwdriver works well, but why would you want to gut it?

Probably because the pieces are breaking apart and they can be sucked back into the engine and will kill it.

because ive got a P0430 code and i dont want **** being sucked into my motor i can hear it rattleing around in the precat already

The front one is easy. Take a hammer to it. After a few wacks it should fall apart. The rear cat is pretty hard. I had to drill, hammer, pry.. it was hell. It was not brittle AT ALL. Im guessing mine wasnt that old.

both precats have to come down. So yea the Y-pipe does have to come down too
