When to change the clutch?

How would one know it was time to change (upgrade) the clutch? Ive had the OEM clutch since its birth, and it seems to be getting pretty rough on me. Im sure, 6 years later and 100,000+ miles has worn it down. Are there any dead give aways that would let me know its time?

Be it that time, What brands to look for? I dont want anything for street-racing, just a little spirited driving works for me.

thanks in advance for any help!

haha yeah it's been a few months for me too. don't know what he's talking about.

i'm approaching your situation, 90k miles on my 02 SE 6 spd. clutch is doing just fine, but i eventually know a replacement will be in order. Gimmie an update if you do end up switching your clutch out.

I've heard estimates for somewhere around $300 - 500 for the clutch, a few more hundred for labor, around a $1000 start to finish. am i way off?

Go with the 350Z HR OEM clutch. A popular favorite for the 6MTs. I haven't gotten one yet, but I will be due soon. Search 350Z HR clutch and you might find some threads.

Are you talking disc or whole clutch kit? Weeble1 went for just the disc and it all went together and drove no problem.

As far as how long it lasted...
