NGK Laser Iridium plugs

I have a maxima 00', and I am doing the regular tune up for my car and I was wondering if it is a good idea to get the NGK laser iridium plug part #7944. Are they too extreme for my max or should they be fine?

I think that would be okay. I use laser platinum myself.

no SES light yet? Because I have heard a few stories about air intakes, that people install aftermarket airintakes and their MAF sensor goes crazy.

EDIT: What difference do you notice with laser platinum?

That is an NGK stock#, not a part#. That would be the OE Laser Iridium IFR5E11.

I would save my money and just get the NGK platinums, but that is just me.

If I get the laser iridium would it drop my rpms? Because the sole reason I might buy them is because I want my car to feel like it is not started when I am stopped.

It wont drop your idle RPM's but it has been said to idle smoother. I noticed that with my current plugs (Iridium). But, it could have been a number items, most namely, they were well over due for a change.

Also, to add to what mtrai stated, it is not worth it to pay that much more for a smoother idle.

Your idle RPM is controlled by your ECU, not by your spark plugs. At idle in neutral with no accessories on and fully warmed up it should be solid at 750 RPM.

in Neutral it is solid at 750 and feels like the car is not started but when I put it in drive it is not as smooth.

You could replace them, but it is going to be pretty expensive for new ones.

The price for the actual mounts are not bad, it is labor involved that can get costly/time consuming.

And we do not have distributors here.

Grounding Kit (made by Shinduho I think?) made a lot of difference in my RPM.

Iridium plugs will last longer than platinum, supposed to potentially go 200k between changes.

Iridiums did make a difference in my 626 but the plugs in it were getting old so hard to say how much of the improvement was the actual plug material and not just that I replaced old plugs.

Pretty expensive plug to have to pull the intake (5.5 gen) and replace every 50k miles.

NGK Iridiums were $6.99 each when I bought them for my old 626 about 18 months ago.

Invalid apples to oranges comparison. Even from 01-02 the PN is different.

Since I only do about 1/2 my driving on the highway, does that mean I should stagger and run every other plug cold?
