Drive side seat motor - Big Trouble!

Just received a phone call that the driver side seat motor in our 2K maxima that my parents were driving is having major trouble. Apparently the seat button was pressed forward and the seat continued moving forward even after the button was released. Could have caused a wreck. Now the seat won't move forward or back.

Where should I start checking? I've never heard of a seat just continuing to move after releasing the button. Had a motor quit on me due to a short, but not this.

TIA

Id imagine it would have been something to do with a bad contact/loose button on the seat itself?

Is there a fuse you can check? If the circuit stayed closed due to a faulty button, maybe the current continued after the seat stopped all the way forward and blew a fuse. If none of the buttons work, the power to the seat motor may be off due to a fuse blown. Can you get a test light down to the motor and see if it has power coming to it?
