Front Axle Bearings

Did yall know that the A33 front axle bearings P/n 40210-2Y000(list price:$92.38) are dimensional the same as the A34 p/n 40210-3Z000 (list price:$34.95)? I measured them with a micrometer and all the dimensions are exactly the same...The A33's are made in Japan (just like the car) and the A34 as we know were all assembled in Tenn. with Made in the USA bearings. The Japanese bearing has slightly more radius on the outer bearing case edge. So if you want to save some money order p/n 40210-3Z000 they're $26.21 @ ABC Nissan.

slightly more radius on the Japanese ones?Is that on the outer race? If so you won't be able to put the snap ring on haha
You know those things are press fitted.
One time parts gave me a wrong bearing )different vehicle)and i tried to press it and it never wanted to press in fully without resistance. Long storry short had i sent that car out like that it would have been back within a week as tolerances are so tight on those things.
If car gets hit on the wheel sometimes shortly after they will come back with a bad bearing. If you press the new one in without changing the spindle it might come back just as soon.
So pay extra for the proper part.

They are the same I mic'd the I.D, O.D, and Width, of both bearings. They have the exact dimensions. The Radius has nothing to do with the dimensions just the edge finish, to ease the pressing process! The price difference in where it was manufactured and all my years of pressing in, pressing off, bearings on helicopters and aviation components...Japanese bearing are always higher priced for the same application in general and special use! Just for fun I'll call a local bearing supply that I order Spherical bearing from... with the actual bearing #'s (Japan:438WD12A,b) and (USA:08040302 AU0908) I know they're identical!!!

I bought TIMKEN from http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/se...294967010+9265

They were NTK bearings and marked "made in Japan" for $40/piece, quite a consolation. Installed like a charm when I took the knuckle to the press shop.
