5.5 Gen ECU Code help

Hey guys, haven't been on the org for a long while. Got this 2002 Maxima keep throwing codes after reset, after installing the Cattman's Full exhaust system. Know this is a flamable newb-like question, but FAQ sucks, links dont really link. So here it goes:

I know how to reset, and I know how to get the blinking going. But the count sequence is a bit weird, unlike the 4th gen that I used to have.

So can someone explain to me how to count the blinks? the combination of long and short blinks? And after I count them, how do I get a chart of all codes to see what they mean?

Thanks in advance.

the number of blinks means nothing. Read the reset procedure for the ECU and it blinks to show what stage of the procedure you're currently in. You have to have the code pulled with an OBDII scanner. Free at autozone.

damn peter, get with the program

Not true. Ive read codes many times using nothing but the key and gas pedal. I think its after step 5 just leave your foot off the gas and it will start blinking. Those blinks are the ones you want. They will be in series of 4. It will do multiple codes back to back until it loops around again to the first code. Unless you only have one then it will repeat that one. To clear the codes continue with step 6. Good luck, timing is critical. Link below.

Sorry, didnt really answer your question. As soon as MIL starts flashing in step 5, start counting. That is the first number in your 4 digit code. 0 is 10 flashes.

Then reference codes here.

Went to Autozone today and tried to pull codes...No luck because there scanner didn't even get powered up from my OBD-II terminal.

So I pulled up to Nick's (a good mechanic friend) shop and used his scanner to pull codes...Worked just fine.

Here are the codes I got:
P0031 Heated Sensor 1 Hi-Voltage Bank 1
P0037 Heated Sensor 1 Lo-Voltage Bank 1
P0051 Heated Sensor 2 Hi-Voltage Bank 1
P0057 Heated Sensor 2 Lo-Voltage Bank 1

I installed Cattman Headers, a bunch of codes came about. I had the rear O2's installed behind the main cat, didn't get rid of any of the codes. Then I bought the O2 simulator, and supposedly should get rid of everything, but these 4 codes kept appearing. I reset it many times and don't get these codes on first crank, they always appear 1 second on second crank.

I think I must have shorted some wires out in the install. Do anyone have experience with this? Any help is appreciated.

P0031 P0051 P0037 P0057 after changing on o2 sensor

I'm having a similar problem. I just replaced one o2 sensor on the y pipe. After I did that, all the codes you listed are popping up. I can't believe that changing one sensor would hose all four of them on my 03 Maxima. What is happening. I had the codes reset and after the second time cranking the car, all these codes pop up. Please help.

You ever figure out how to fix those codes?

Honestly, if I ever decide to put headers on my car, I am doing the O2 sims first to make sure they will work. Can't pass emissions here with an SES or even a stored code. That's my solution.
