Jumpy Idle at start ups and quick stops

Scenarios:
1- At random start ups (not allways) I get a quite noticable jumpy(rough) idle that seems to go away after a few long minutes. I can feel it pulsating in an abnormal manner.
2- At random breif/quick complete stops while driving I can feel the same jumpy(rough) idle that goes away once I continue moving.

FYI:
1- Just did a complete tune up including belts at 95k and plugs, fluids at 93k. (currently 97k)
2- From what I can remember this has happened with AC on(though Im not positive)
3- I cannot determine if this happend soely after the belts, but theres just as good of a chance it may have happened prior.

Any feedback, help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure here, but did you or have you replaced the MAF lately? That might be the problem, too.

No I have not had my MAF replaced, but good point I will take a peek, Last time I checked it was clean (84k), and I used MAF cleaner anyway since I had it open.

My car has done that and it is still not fixed. I'm sure my problem was the iacv-aac valve opening and closing rapidly due to some erroneous signal or malfunction. It would idle and fluctuate from 100-1500 rpm sometimes. I have replaced on a wild goose chase: O2 sensors, mafs, iacv-aac (idle motor) valve, tps, ECU. Car still isn't right.

I have the same exact problem.
Its so random with me, it will happen 1 day out of maybe 10+ days and its so random. I sometime think i might have shut the car off improperly and i write it off as that. but honestly i would love to get to the bottom of this aswell.

However i do notice that if i ride the car the jumpyness goes away but as soon as im at a red light it will return and it usually takes a good 10 minutes of driving for the jumpy idle to just go away it seems to leave on its own.

I thought it might be my MAF sensor of maybe a leak in the tubing of the MAF/intake kit or maybe even the fact that i have a extra sensor (from the old OEM box scoop) just dangling there with no proper place to seat it.

but yea guys keep us posted im definately interested in seeing the outcome of this thread!

If it is not the MAF, it could be the Idle Air Control sensor and/or regulator stuff.

I had this problem a few years ago. First the sensor went out. About 6 months later, the mechanical part of it started acting up. With both parts, it was "bucking" from 500-1500rpms or refusing to keep an idle.

I took it to the dealer (mistake!). Both parts were pretty expensive to replace (and dealership labor was disgustingly expensive, of course)

I had similar problems too with my 2K Auto. Along with bumpy idle my brake pedal was very hard, had to put extra effort on brake pedal at Stop lights.

But after couple of days driving on highway (above 65) everything was back to normal. So far no issues with brake or idle till now.
No SES, new batt, airfilter, alt.

update: I can now say this occurs without the A/C running.
and after a lengthy drive I have an SES light and will post the results...as this may...relate in some way or form.
