What is the year and mileage on your Max?
I have a silver 2002 SE Nissafinity* that just hit the 100,000 mark for tranny and emissions, and I've just had my first blown O2 sensor, whee!
*about 40,000 miles on an engine transplant from a donor Infinity G35, after losing a connecting rod in the original engine at 82,000 miles, in May of 2008.

Well after a faithful 326,578 miles, the white 2000 SE gets retired from daily driver to become the wife's commuter and grocery getter.
Just bought a 2002 SE, Gold with 76,015 miles. One previous owner, super clean carfax with all the regular maintenance, clean and solid as can be. Paid $7600 for it. On the way home the 2000 gave me the battery/brake warning lite so it was a $200 alternator repair the next day.
First order of business: Swap taillite lens.
When tires are due, I may swap the wheels as well as I like the 2000 SE rims with the covered lug nuts better.
The 2000 has the single play Bose which I've never had any problems with the 2002 has the standard unit. I'm assuming it's not a practical swap but if anyone's done it I'd like to know.
Love my driveway full of Maxima's !

Excellent mileage on that 2000, blueridge!
Our '01 just rolled past 319,000 this week. We got word today of a death in my wife's family which may require us to drive out for the funeral. That's central Indiana to far northwestern Kansas and back.
We're trying to decide if we take the '01 Maxima or the '01 GTI (which has about 87k on the odo) The negative about the Maxima is, of course, the high mileage. The negative about the GTI is...well...it's a VW.

If the Maxima's running fine and all the basics (tires, belts etc) are in good shape why not drive it? I turned over 300,000 this past spring on a run from NE Tenn to St. Louis, no probs. I'd still get in that 2000 and drive it about anywhere today.
2000 Maxima SE, purchased in September 1999. 90,000 miles. Everything is original or OEM, of course, with the exception of tires, Hawk brake pads, Bosch Starter, and koyo rad. Only has K&N air filter, front strut bar, and Blitz Rad Cap.
Engine never missed a beat, never had the common stalling, idle, or TPS problems I always read about on this forum. Stock shocks still fairly tight, although I am sure it has lost some damping over the years. I would like to keep it stock for as long as I could, so no plan to upgrade the shocks yet, not unless I have to.

Yeah, I cannot believe I am still browsing on maxima.org after literally ten years of ownership of this car!!! I have had other cars come and go but the Maxima just keeps going without [much] issues. haha.
Because I am located in Canada, my SE came loaded with every option there is, except the CD-Changer. I have the 17" wheels, but I remember there were some with 16" wheels.
I personally like the covered lug 17" wheels. I have had my original set of wheel lug covers "stolen" and "misplaced" by my friends back in 2002! I bought another set on eBay for $20 in 2003. Three weeks ago, someone stole ONE of the wheel lug covers on my Maxima!!! Luckily I had ONE spare lying around!!!
So much memories with the Maxima. It's great. I also remember back when Y2Kevse posting on here hourly! Great times.
2001 SE, 67k miles and still trouble free, i pamper the car, but the stupid spoiler paint is fade like a crackling, seem to me the weather or the area i live in affected that part of my car, anyone had same problem with the factory paint, mine started like two years ago, i havne't gotten around to get it repainted
2000 GXE, purchased Aug. 1999, 164XXX miles.
Never been in the shop for anything other then brakes or spark plugs. Replaced GXE wheels with aftermarket wheels a year or two ago.
In love with it for over 10 years now.

I have a 2002 nissan maxima 6 speed. The car has 120,000 miles on it. I have the usual mods. Cold air intake, lowered, stillen suspension parts, strut bar, chiped, exhaust, and other odds and ends. I make personal battery tie downs. They make your car more personal. Also make cross drilled rotors.

it's pretty clean... just need a little TLC
