What is the year and mileage on your Max?
The 2000 SE turned over 350,000 miles this week. Still runs great, wife went back to school so it does a 130 mile round trip interstate run 3 days a week as well as grocery getter. Still original engine, transmission, exhaust (getting a mellow growl to it,though). The Bose works fine, never changed a coil, wheel bearing, fuel filter/pump or O2 sensor, It has gone thru a MAF, IACV, radiator, several alternators and starters, one axle and last week, hp power steering hose. Uses less oil than my 2002 which now has 120,000 miles. It's only left me hanging twice, both times due to sudden starter death. Icelandic White and black trim still cleans up pretty nice.
Best car I've ever owned.

2001 GXE with 108K
Has a FSTB and Cattman rear sway bar that I put on when I first got it in 2001.
Have replaced two calipers, four rotors and pads three times in last 4 years and do not know why they are wearing like butter. The first set lasted almost over 40k. The second set almost 40k and were terrific except I didn't re-torque the wheels after a safety inspection and the rotors warped...that was the reason for the early brake job and the onset of my current misery.
(Have pad formulations been forced to change to help combat global warming, breast cancer, or the medical insurance crisis or something?)
Also: replaced alternator, O2 sensors and just today one coil. Now I wait to see if any more codes pop and what cylinder is misfiring for the next coil. I'm not sure if my IACV is good or bad...how would I know?
The blower motor sounds like an air raid siren on wind-up and, some dash lights work some of the time, the steering wheel radio controls are iffy and the power driver seat tilt motor pooped a long time ago.
Everything on the underneath has rust all over and yet nothing is rusting on top. I'm waiting for a foot to go through the floor someday. Gotta love living/driving in the rust belt.
Is this a good car? I don't know...but I do kinda wish I'd opted for the Accord and I'm happy I have a Toyota Tacoma as a go-to when this one poops out.
I'm not having a lot of confidence this is gonna be a 350K-miler.

2002 SE maxima. It has about 143,000 on it now. It is starting to show its age, though. NE PA is not kind to cars that have to go through her salt. The underside has horrific rust everywhere. The rear quarters are starting to rust, and the exhaust needs to be replaced. Not due to it going bad but all of the hangers have been ripping off causing a hole in it. Oh well. I hope to get 200K out of it, then it will be time for a new car.
2003 GLE w/ 155K (bought her with 7 miles!)
Overall it's been a solid car, although the past few months have been quite expensive...New radiator, cat, engine mounts, HID's, hub+bearing, blower motor, blower motor resistor, power window motor, power window lock...When it rains, it pours, I guess..

You're not the first to have to put in a new radiator...what goes bad on them? Do they pop a leak, plug up tubes, or a seam give way?
I haven't looked at it, but usually radiators aren't that hard of a DIY at least. Something to look forward to I guess.

Just passed 192,000 on my '02 Maxima yesterday.
Just hit 155k today on the 01 SE.
Only averaging around 300 miles per tank....if I'm lucky. Probably need to look into replacing spark plugs or cleaning out the MAF. My 03 SE with 88k miles is still getting 400-420 miles per tank....

2000 SE with 211K. Still running strong. It's survived 1 major deer collision at 80mph, 1 Hit and Run, and 1 Rear Bumper Collision. You try to find any other car thats built like a tank and can spank Hondas at the same time all within budget.
P.S., I hate Camrys

'02 I35 - 165k miles.
She's had her share of repairs, ignition coil, rear struts, wheel bearings, ABS sensor, speedometer, muffler :/
Can't complain about the engine or transmission though! It's still a great car!

'02 SE just turned 105,500 today. The car runs easily as good or even better than when I bought it with 55k miles on it. Oh it still burns around a quart of oil every 1k miles, but the power and gas mileage are still awesome.
I've replaced nothing but a power window motor and high pressure ps hose in 5 years and 50k miles. I'm a very happy Maxima owner.
Oh and my wife's '91 Maxima SE is still happily purring along with 121k miles on it. Say what you will about Maximas, but I think they are incredibly well engineered and built cars for the price. There's hardly a day that goes by I don't see at least 2 or 3 3rd. gens on the road, looking good and not smoking.
