I feel one major factor in this is where the car resides...major rust belt...little rust belt...or zero rust belt...so many times we blame cars for their short lives without merit if we live in rust belt. It's so cool to see some of u with 90's models with like no rust and 200000 miles on them. Awesome.

Mine: MY2000....with 143xxx miles.

Q.man06 -
Miles on your car inspire me to keep going with my 02, i have 206K but doubt that I"d make it that far.. my goal was 250K,

Just wondering what kind of issues you've had after hitting 200K. I'd like to hear from you

Thanks

2000 I30t 180k DD all over Az. Some parts replacement alternator, starter, radiator, tension pulley, and some mounts. Other then that runs great! Still Daily Driver, but given lite duty and some upgrades to revitalize her.

Donkeypunch, My car isn't that messed up , but its just the NY/NJ roads aren't that forgiving, roads here aren't fixed for ages and then making things even worse is we have the salty winter that just take a toll. If you've been this sides of the states you'd know how bad it is. I am sure some folks in this forum here can vouch for that. Like someone said earlier that its all depends on where your reside. Just recently my car died on the road so had it checked out only to find out cylinder 1 was misfiring so I change the spark plug/ignition coils/alternator belt. Thanks to the advise from this forum I was able to fix it and Thanks God its running now.

The only issue i have right now is that its making some sort of a grinding noise while driving from the lower front that i can't figure out. I know its not the engine as when its ideal its all smooth sailing. Any advise from anyone about this issue will be helpful.

My car is all stock original engine never modified it from the get go, did oil change every 3K mile considering thats its my everyday car. Never did any hard cornering or ruff driving.

Thanks
G10

Does it sound like it's coming from the wheels? My immediate reaction is either brakes or a wheel bearing. Bad bearings often have a grinding sound that can be intermittent.

^ Man you newbs got some low mileage Maximas... very nice

My 2000 SE is at 96500, 100k coming up. 40k out of that 100k is mine, 60k was old man before I got it. Old man drove 60k in 11 years, I drove 40k in 3 years.

Gonna have a party and 100k cruise sometime in the next few months im guessing.

Wifes 14' Maxima is at 7500k already, but a true baby still...

Funny thing is, I was moving the two Maximas in the parking lot last night, started and moved both cars back to back..And I have to say, being in the new Maxi made me realize that hey -- my 2000 engine runs way smoother than the 2014, despite the miles and all the mods...

The thing about having a max over 200,000 is most the stuff that usually
takes a dump has already taken that dump so it's good for another 15 years

After 200K the ONLY thing i've had go was the motor. ha.

It died from oil pump failure at 207K, but it had a really hard life the last 100k. Pizza delivery :/

Replaced it with an 08 altima engine. Put it in myself so it only costed me about ~1500. Haven't had a single issue since.

Gearing up for my typical maintenance every 30k - All fluids.

Also going to overhaul the entire suspension at once, so i'm collecting parts for that. No bad tire wear, but original suspension isn't exactly new.

2000 SE with 285,000 miles on it. No rust, even living it's life in Utah with salting the roads every winter. It's a 5 speed, I replaced the factory clutch at 235,000 miles, the car is still running great. The most amazing feature in my mind is the interior, the leather on the seats is still in excellent condition.
I have used this forum for some fixes along the way, thank you all for your contributions!
