2001 AE 5spd manual 230,000 miles. Had her since new. Lots of memories over the last 16 years. Never thought I'd own a car this long.

Garage kept 2001 Sterling Mist Maxima SE with Frost Leather. 22,286 miles. I know... I know... No miles at all but the drive to work is only 9 mile each way and I have another car, a 2015 Nissan Juke SL AWD in Pearl White. The Maxima is my daily driver now and the Juke only has 668 miles on it. I Sold my 1994.5 Nissan Sentra LE and bought the Juke 2 years ago. Prior to purchasing the Juke, the Sentra was my daily driver.

2000 I30 just hit 170k miles today. Owned since spring '06. New job has me commuting 55 miles round trip every day.

Our 2002 I35 has 82k miles on it and got rear-ended 2 days ago. Minor damage. 1-2 days in the shop. Pretty much just the bumper cover.

2004 I35 just rolled over to 244,000 miles yesterday. Only had it since April, but I enjoy it enough to keep up the maintenance while paying my way through college. It's been a good 10,000 miles of ownership so far lol.

Had a 2000 I bought off the lot, had 255k on it before I gave it away in 08. I once put 30k on it in 5 weeks. I just bought the 01 5 speed I have now last year. Has 187k on it however the exterior is in perfect condition.

2003 GLE 259K miles. Original owner. All stock. Runs like new! I use 20w-50 oil since the 200K mark and from new, only a genuine Nissan oil filter (aftermarket oil filters allowed "drain down" and connecting rods rattled a bit during a cold start). Nissan oil filter and 20W-50 no rods rattle. Max uses no more oil than when new. Trans fluid every 30K. This Maxima runs like it has another 100K left in it!

The rods rattle cause you're using 20w50 which flows poorly. At startup when cold its gonna rattle for 10-15 seconds until it gets oil. Ouch! If it doesn't burn oil, not sure why you would use oil so thick

Using the wrong filter (one without an anti-siphon feature) can also cause this, because the oil is allowed to drain out of the engine and filter back into the pan if left sitting long enough.

2001 SE 5-speed - sunlit sand

Original owner, 235K miles, stock - daily driver city & long distance trips - excellent condition - well maintained. If I could find a better car today, I'd buy one, but this one has been a winner.

Actually the recommended 5W-30 "drained down" and the rods rattled at every cold start (always with a Nissan oil filter. Aftermarket filters allowed even a longer duration of "rod rattle") I kept experimenting, and 20W-50 eliminated rod rattle completely (thicker oil stays put better according to an oil expert). I don't live in a cold winter climate and the Maxima is always kept in a semi-warm attached garage, so sub-freezing cold starts aren't an issue.
Also, it did burn oil from when I bought it brand new. About a quart every 1,000 miles (which Nissan said was within "Normal range of oil usage"). With 20W-50 It uses about one quart every 5,000 miles (my oil change interval). The Maxima has 260,000 miles on it and runs great.

1996 Maxima base model - 188,000 miles
I just got the car a week ago, Dad had it from new, then Mom drove it after Dad passed. No rust, interior very good. In good condition overall. I have lots of plans for it. Starting with basics, fluid changes, plugs, coils etc. Then brakes, suspension wheels, tires. I'm looking at pics now and thinking about wheel size. Somewhere down the line in a couple years I hope to install a turbo and manual transmission, after the other mods. And finally the interior.

2000 GLE 305,000 miles. Bought one year ago with 249,000. It's for sale if anyone wants it. Replaced rear calipers & brackets, pads, rotors, new blizzack lm's, control arms, tie rods, sway bar end links, quick struts, steering wheel, radio & hvac, radiator support, etc. I want to get my fourth back on the road.

I did some reading after posting and am thinking now that I should stay away from the turbo with the miles on my car (188K), so I will study the bolt ons. It's made with 190hp and I would like to get much more from it, so I'll study and get advice before going too far and putting too much into it. It'll be pretty costly just doing suspension, paint, wheels ignition etc. Looking forward to being a member.
