Installing Hitch on '02 Max

Does anybody has it? I'm looking to get one so I can put a bike holder on it.
Any good and cheap places where I can get it?
P.S. I just want it to be not really visible though.

If all you're looking to do is haul bikes, you might consider a simple trunk-top rack. They're about the same price (or cheaper) and you won't have to install a hitch. I got this one a few weeks ago. I haven't tried it on my Maxima yet, but it's rock-solid on my wife's Camry.

Hidden Hitch for me as well....fairly straightforward installation, but you will want to jack-up the rear to get under there.

I personally wud prefer the hitch carrier option myself - but I'm not sure I'd install a hitch JUST to have the carrier.
Personal choice....but you'll have more options with the car with the hitch.

on the hidden hitch. I installed one on my 2000, very easy, I just backed it up on some ramps. It's very hidden, no one know's I have a hitch until I hook my trailer up to it.

to Romster:

PM'd you my email.
How much was it when you bought it?
The reason I don't want a trunk mount one is that I already scratched spoiler on my 01 Infiniti I30.
And I think the spoiler design is the same as on the Max.

Thank you in advance

Trailer Wiring Question

For you guys who have the hitch, and have tapped your tailights for trailering:
How did you tap your lights?

I had to go in and re-wire the taps for my pigtail (uhaul) last nite, and I'm having an issue with the Brake Lamps.
The Lamp shows blown (dash lite) but it still works intermittantly, and the filament is not broken.

trying to diagnose.

Do you guys have inline fuses installed between the pigtail and the lights on the car???

Thanks,
gr

**Btw - I SOLDERED my connections and dumped the snap-locks....**

mine came with a kit to tap into the taillights, took 10 mins. Just strip a few wires and used connectors to tap into them, tape it all up and put it back together.

**update**

It turned-out that Brake Lamp filament on the left side bulb was damaged, although it was not OBVIOUSLY broken or damaged -- just slightly charred.

I swapped the bulbs from left side to right to test my wiring. SImple.

Still curious if a "factory" install of the pigtail would include an inline fuse?!?

I just got done towing a 5x8 uhaul trailer from iowa to Atlanta -- with a good amount of my personal belongings in tow.

I have to say the max did DAYum good on the trip!
I ran about 60-70mph for 900miles, and got 19mph!! i was surprised, even with the extra-tall box trailer in tow...

Those who think the max can't tow a load this large efficiently, are wrong.
The motor has PLENTY of power, and the chassis can handle a respectable load of up to 2000lbs with the (light) class I hitch.

I WOULD have rented a 4x8 trailer for the lower profile, and probably got better gas mileage....but none avail at the time.

Anyway -- just wanted to add this, since there has been debate in the past about the Max being able to tow effectively.
