OBD Problem

My car is not giving any reading when the OBD monitor is hooked to it.

The check engine light is on, but no power is going to the OBD connector so that it can be read.

Is there a fuse or something for this?

Time to download the FSM. There is a wiring diagram that shows how everything is routed to the OBD connector. Forget the page#, but I was just looking at it a few days ago.

Hmmm...I seem to remember you need to have the ignition in the on position but the car not started.

Make sure all the pins are good on the scan tool. I was having an issue of no power going to mine and realized that 2 pins were bent and I wasn't getting a good connection.

make sure the connection is good. the OBD meter should indicate if it is connected.

Yeah it starts.

Both autozone, and an emissions inspection place have not been able to read it though.

A friend of mine had the same problem when he used an autozone scanner. we tried my scangauge tool and it would not read the code. His car would not start though so you can probably eliminate the ecm being the culprit. he was not so lucky.
