I bought a 2002 Nissan Maxima and it didn't come with a keyless remote.
So I found 2 types of remotes on eBay but wanted to check with people here what kind of remote you have on 2002 Maximas.
Production date on my Max is 12/01 I believe.

 

It's the thumb-style remote. Four buttons all in a row ... let me see if I can get the part number quickly.

ETA: Presuming it's got the stock keyless, that is, and not aftermarket.
