BLower motor!!

My blower motor randomly stopped working. When I turn the switch for the fan it doesnt do anything, none of the 1-2-3-4 make the fan turn. i checked all the fuses they are all good. I am not sure where the relay is for it, so i havent been able to check that. Also I am not that good with electronics, i dont have a test light, instead i have a volt meter, not sure exactly how to use it. Sorry for being such a noob, but i really need some help.

o, by the way i have a 2002 maxima.

You have to find out if the motor is shot, or its just the blower resistor. I'm assuming you have manual temp and fan controls.

Look on the back of the relay, it'll give you the pin #'s and a small schematic check the coil for power then check the swinging contact for power it should be only on one side, take a paper clip or wire and short the contacts together or grab an identical relay in the relay box and test by using it in the blower relay position...

Mine stopped working, it was the blower resistor. I wish I bought one first since it's cheaper than the actual blower motor.

Just be sure to buy it from Nissan, the Infinity dealer in the same building had it for $30 more, but it was shown in stock at both parts departments.

So if it's your blower motor, let me know I have an used one I can sell you...

Under the dash on the passenger side, you can see if from that side if you lay on the floor.

I can't find a picture of it, but it's rectangular and has 2 screws on it and a wire harness.

Did you ever check the relay?

you can measure voltage on the motor connector itself when it is at full speed, should be close to 12V.

Just wanted to say thanks. Your images cleared up what all of people were trying to describe to me over the phone. I now have low, med, semi hi, and hi compared to 'nothing' and 'wind tunnel'.
