K sport strut replacement

Hey everyone, a couple days ago I was reading a post with information on things you can do in order to replace a strut on a coilover and still maintain your correct settings for you alignment and such. But my strut came in the mail today, and I want to change it tomorrow morning, but I cant find the post with the info in it...any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

Measure the distance between top of upper spring seat to lower spring seat. Then measure the distance between the lower spring seat lock and upper perch lock. Or you could take them off, making sure not to change any of the settings, and then just adjust the new ones to look exactly like the blown struts.
