I have been financing a 97, and I decided instead of paying this off, i'm going to get a 2k1 SE and just make it my total project car. I'm going to put half of the money on a down payment, and the rest is going to mods (say about $5000) I'm planning to go all out on a system (tv's in headrests, navigation, etc.) Which will be most of the money. I want to add some perfomance mods BUT want to keep the car as quiet as possible. Can you guys help me out? I would like to add like 20+ or so hp but don't want the car sounding like a riced up honda. Also would upgrading to 18 inch rims affect the speedometer and odometer?

 

Hmmm... powere mods? You'll need a y pipe, b pipe, muffler, and cai. All that will make your car very loud. Keeping the stock muffer will keep the noise down a bit though.

18 inch rims will affect your speedometer only if the diameter of the wheel (rim + tire) is larger/smaller than what Nissan has.
