button under clutch pedal

I was messing around and i found out that if you press the button with your finger and crank the engine, it starts! many of you most likely knew that. but i find it odd. is there anyway to keep it pushed down? or wire it so i don't have to push the clutch to start?

Yes, you can bypass it.

Would I? No....

I have driven a few car with the switch broken/bypassed. I don't like the idea if someone else was going to drive the car...

That's the button you have to bypass so you can put a remote starter on a manual.

Its dangerous if you leave it in gear though. Thats all I'll say lol

i understand all the risks of starting it while in gear. And the main reason i want to do this is so i can install my remote start. I never leave the car in gear. And what i was thinking about doing ( if possible) is run a switch to the left side of the steering wheel, and have a toggle switch kind of. id have to flick it to start it. or keep it "flicked" when i plan on using the remote start the next morning or something. Does what im saying make sense or not really?

Thanks guys

Pin switch on e-brake handle?

I remember back in the day, there was a proximity sensor that you could put around the shifter to sense if it was in gear or not..not sure as that was hear-say...

i was thinking one of these switches

http://cgi.ebay.com/MINI-TOGGLE-DPDT-ON-OFF-ON-SWITCH_W0QQitemZ380061082365QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em380061082365&_trkparms=72%3A1163|39%3A1|66%3A2|6 5%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

and i was planning on leaving it switched off so it wont start without me flicking it to the on position. But when i know i need to remote start it the next morning before school, i would flick it so its on so i can use my remote start.

and it would be mounted in the spot for spare switches on the left side of the steering wheel. anyone know what im talking about??

haha ya. cause pushing the clutch is a great theft dettarant system.

but can you explain how you rewired/relocated it? cause i looked behind the button and it has a special connector going to it.

JUST SO YOU KNOW...most nissans have a neutral safety switch that you can tap into for your remote start. It is the SAFEST and should be the ONLY way to do remote start on a stick shift car. I have it on mine and it works like a charm. PearlMax96 did the install for me and he has been able to successfully find most NSS wires in most nissans.

AGAIN...Don't bypass the clutch switch!

So essentially you can only remote start it if it is in neutral
