need help

So I was at Autozone and got into a discussion with a employee about my car throwing P0021 and P0011, now she said that the codes could be thrown becuase the previous owner had the vehicle sitting for 6 months so the ICV (Intake Control Valve Sensor) could be gunked up or not reading properly so I decided to take my intake apart...

Got all the way to the throttle body to notice where the flap opens to allow air in (im guessing) that there is alot of think grease black like substance there... is it suppose to be there? should i clean it up? should i open up the flap and clean in there aswell?

also there is the black sensor on there that seems to be rivited on, anyone know how to remove this? i mean how do they remove it if it needs to be replaced?

If you've got an '02 or '03(you didn't say), then it's drive-by-wire, do research before you attempt to clean the throttle body. You can mess it up permanently by cleaning it wrong.

Yep, on my wife's '03, I confirmed that the riveted on sensor is actually the throttle actuator. You don't wanna mess with removing that.

the chance of breaking the E-TB is very high if you don't know how to clean it.

and for the P0021 and P0011, those are cam sensors, not your TB.
