Exhaust and Headers Question

I searched, but I didn't find an answer to the questions I have. I really like the sound of the Z/G35 and I heard that Cattman or Hotshot headers combined with a Cattman CBE or Megan Racing CBE sounds pretty close. Is that true? I think the Cattman CBE is too expensive, so I was looking at the Megan Racing CBE, so does the choice of headers make a difference?

Also, this is my daily, so I don't want it to be noise in the cabin at all, I just want the exhaust to be loud if I step on it. With headers and exhaust, will it be too loud inside the car?

Basically, I want the Z sound with the cheapest cost, but with performance. What's the best way to go to get that? Thanks

spelling>you lol *searched*

just warning you dude you going to get flamed for this...look in the 5g threads theres an exhaust sticky and u can hear ppl setups..and decide which is best for you,..btw.. hottshot does not make headers for our car as they are out of buisness 4 us IIRC..so cattman is the only *good* choice

if u just want noise get a megan catback and thats it,...oh but they are on backorder everywhere for weeks+

Fixed it. Thanks for pointing out something so insignificant

I saw the sticky, but I want to know mostly about how noisy it will be and the cheapest way to get that sweet Z sound. Thanks for the heads up on the headers, I didn't know that.

I wouldn't suggest you get the exhaust if you want quiet. Just get headers and y-pipe but stick with stock muffler.

Cheapest way to get Z sound with performance is to get a 350z. And best way to get it is to check your local dealerships for bargains.

i 100% completely disagree......................
350z=10-15K
theres no way thats cheaper than headers n exhaust that can get you close............. you can buy a 3.5 motor, pay for cattman I/H/E, n someone to install n it'll still be way less than having monthly payments on a stock Z..... not to mention he already has the motor, n he'll be faster

He did say he wanted quiet So getting a Z is the best way to go.

Thanks for all the helpful posts, to the select few of you who actually had something helpful to say.

Enough with the "Buy a Z" comments. I'm not saying I want the same power as the Z, just a similar exhaust note and by adding things that will increase performance.

DaveVQ, thanks for the heads up about the Megan and headers. I just did the GAB mod with the coat hanger for now, and it sounds pretty good, not much louder than stock, but a nice tone at WOT.

EDIT: The one I found that seemed to be the closest to what I'm looking for was this one...
