loud high pitch squeak from brakes?

loud high pitch squeak from brakes?

i have a prob with my max im driving and when i turn left my car makes a high pitch squeak/ grind like i have no brakes, so i got new better pads and its still there. its only when turning left and from the right side (passengers side) or if i hit a bump it starts and right when i hit the brake it goes away
ANY IDEAS? its making me sooooo mad

and cv joint was replaced about 2000 miles ago
and its a 2000 max with 106k miles

check the dust shield. i hit mine once and it made a horrible noise like my brakes were gone. The shield was scrapping on the rotor. bent it away and walla.

typical dust shield rubbing....bend it away from the rotor face and you'll be fine..

i sprayed brake cleaner all over it as well and no help just a lot of dust.

Did you jack the front end up with the car in nuetral and turn the rotor? Try it with steering full left and right and see if you can duplicate it.

It does sound like a dust shield issue though.

If you have not done so, pull the rotor off. Mine had rusted metal pieces between the rotor and dust shield. Clean up all the metal with wire brush.

I would have suggested the caliper sticking...but you mentioned it only happens when you turn left...hmmm
