small hole on motor mount

Hey guys, found another problem with my car

Recently discovered a small hole on my motor mount. It is located on the passenger side front. You can't notice it unless someone is pushing the gas pedal. My question is ... how will this affect my car? I was told by the Nissan mechanics that if I want to pass inspection, I would have to replace this mount and it will cost about $250 with labor and tax. I hope there is an easier way out ... help!

the stock mounts need to be pressed out, and the es inserts pressed in. most local shops can do it.

Thanks for all your replies. I do have one more question though, since I have a 2000 Maxima Automatic, are the motor mounts going to be different? I have already done some research on reading other posts and most them were on 6spd. I also found this link

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Will these work as a replacement for my original mounts?

Thanks for everything buddy! Just to make sure I order the right part,

- 00-03 Maxima and 00-04 I30/I35: F&R motor mount bushing set (Maxima only), was $89.99, now $80
Is that what I am suppose to order?

dammit, no its not..my bad. i was talking about the front and rear on the cross member. the side mounts to my knowledge dont go bad as quick. as far as i know there are no poly bushings for the side mounts..

I have been told by a few nissan mechanics that there should never be a reason to swap the side mounts, unless there is physical damage to them. Call Dave B. his number is in the stickies if you need the side mount

Thanks, I'll let DaveB know since I just received my ignition coil from him today gonna install it this Sat heh. But yeah I was told by a Nissan mechanic in order to pass inspection I would have to have it replaced. I tried to take a picture of the hole but I don't have another person to help me take the picture.
