Does anyone make a 1/2" spacer lift?

Does anyone make a 1/2" spring spacer lift for the Maxima? I have Tein HTech springs with Tokico Illuminas on my 2002 SE and I am constantly bottoming out. I'm tired of it and I want to lift it up a little bit but not all the way to factory height. I like the ride I am getting from my setup but the constant bottoming out is too much. Does anyone make a spacer I could put under the springs to lift my suspension about a 1/2"?

Did you cut your bump stops?

The springs and struts were installed by the previous owner. I don't know if they are cut or not. I've thought about that too, but I was worried about the tires getting into the fenders. How much can the bump stops be cut until the stock sized tire will rub inside the fender?

Cutting bump stops won't drop your car more, it gives back suspension travel. IIRC most springs need 25mm cut on all the bump stop aka the top donut when you look at it. Search for more info, this topic has been around.

I realize cutting the bump stop doesn't drop the car more, but it stops the tires up travel. Without the bump stop, the tires would slam into the fender. Thats why I was asking how much can be trimmed before I start to rub in the fender.

Is there any way to get in to cut the bumpstops without completely removing everything?

Cutting bump stops won't make the tire hit the fender well just to clarify.

For the front yes, jack up car, remove wheel, and you can cut directly in between the springs. Rears you have to remove the assembly.

Thanks, I haven't lifted it up yet to look. Maybe I'll give that a try. I only need to cut the front. I've never had a problem with the rear. I did a search and read through some old threads. It sounded like cutting the factory bumpstops could cause some problems with the bumpstop crumbling. Do I need to be concerned about cutting the factory bump stops?

Thank you. That is going to be some thick rubber. I'll have to see if I can get in there with a hacksaw blade or something. If I can't I will just put the factory springs back in in the spring. THanks for the help guys.

I am going to try this myself to solve the same problem. Copy and paste this in the URL for another option; http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/I...=group_listing

Thank you, that is more or less what I was looking for. I also have a Jeep Wrangler and these kind of things are used all the time in the Jeep world. I just didn't know if anyone had something that would work on the Maxima. I'll have to look into it a little closer now to see if this will work until I swap springs.

I have not received the Spring boosters and must admit that it may be questionable if they will work on the Maxima. The springs on the Maxima are .5 inches smaller that the spec requirement. I hope they will work anyway. I will advise....

Please do let me know how they turned out. I'd appreciate it.

Update - Spring Boosters

Received the JC Whitney shipment today. I only installed the rear spring boosters on my Maxima. The install was surprisingly easy. Actually, I spent more time removing and reinstalling the tires. No change in ride height and I suspect they are going to work as advertised. I will update you have the test drive on tonight or tomorrow.

Spring Booster - UPDATE

Success! I only installed the boosters on the rear and it works exactly as advertised. My rear tires not longer make slight contact with the lower lip of my fender well. The ride height is unchanged. I believe there is more firmness in the area of lateral roll (motion) or there is an anti-sway effect. It could be my imagination, but the rear suspension rebound feels like it did when the car was brand new. Of course the spring rate has been slightly increased. I positioned the boosters in the same location on booth sides, which close to the top of the coil.

Sorry, but I did not take any pictures. In lieu of that, it is simple winding a piece of 1 inch plus nylon-impregnated rubber seated between the coils. I wish I had done this long ago because the ride feeling more like a Four Door Sports Car.....smiling while driving now.

I hope others try this to see if they get the same sense of satisfaction. I will be putting the same spring boosters on my other Nissans and Ford shortly.

If there is any down side to this, please...anyone chime in...ASAP. ENJOY THE RIDE!!!
