2K1 AE observations
I went by a Nissan dealer this afternoon and looked at an AE real closely and noticed a few things odd. The AE was burgandy(?) and dark gray/black interior.
Observations:
(1) The leather seats were perferated down the middle. This is different from the 2k model. I think the perferations make it look cheap, IMHO. It may be more functional, but the perferated leather like that is usually found in lower level leather interiors. For example, an Audi A4 has two leather interior options: real leather or perferated. The Pontiac Bonneville has the perferation, too. The perferations take away from the look of the interior.
(2) The car interior was dark gray/black. Most of the trim was dark gray/black. However, the trim along the top was frost or tan, especially in the back. That looked really odd, as if they mis-matched parts in the interior.
(3) The sill plates looked great, along with the shifter (AT) and the pedals.
(4) The auto-dim rear view mirror has a wire going from the mirror straight up into the interior light/sun glass holder. I am assuming to retrofit this to a 2k would mean some added cutting since the wire "goes into" the plastic piece up there. There was a cover, of sorts, over the wire. It looked to be plastic. Purely cosmetic. Most of the aftermarket auto-dim rear view mirrors ran the wire along the top of the windshield down the left/right side piller thingy.
After looking it over and talking the salesman up, the salesman got "huffy" when I said thanks and abrubtly left.
Just my observations...
